PawPeer — Terms of Use

1. Who We Are

PawPeer LLC (“PawPeer”) operates pawpeer.io, a smart pet-care and pet-sitting swap platform that connects pet owners with trusted sitters, walkers, and verified service providers, enabling secure bookings, messaging, and payments.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction).
• You must have the authority to accept these Terms.
• You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and use.

We may require identity/verification checks for safety and compliance.

3. Account Registration & Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use or suspected breach. We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms or our policies.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purposes.
• Post or transmit misleading, defamatory, obscene, or infringing content.
• Circumvent payment, identity, or security controls.
• Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service, networks, or security features.

5. Service Provider Verification (KYC)

Providers may be required to complete Know Your Customer (“KYC”) or similar verification through approved third-party vendors (e.g., Persona, Smile ID). By submitting information, you authorize PawPeer and its vendors to process it for compliance, safety, and fraud prevention, as described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Payments, Fees & Subscriptions

Payments are processed via trusted third-party gateways (e.g., Paystack, Stripe, or M-Pesa, depending on region). By confirming a booking or purchase, you agree to pay displayed fees, taxes, and applicable charges. Where offered, subscriptions auto-renew unless you cancel before the renewal. All sales are final except where required by law.

7. Marketplace Role

PawPeer is a platform connecting users; we do not directly provide pet care services. We do not control or guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of services offered by users. Interactions and agreements occur at your own discretion and risk; please exercise due diligence.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including text, graphics, logos, icons, and software, is owned by PawPeer LLC or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without prior written permission.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PawPeer LLC and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill arising from or related to your use of the Service. Your sole remedy is to stop using the Service.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account or access to the Service for any violation of these Terms or conduct we deem harmful. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

12. Changes to the Service & Terms

We may modify or discontinue features at any time. We may update these Terms; changes become effective when posted at pawpeer.io/terms. Continued use constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts in San Diego County, California.

14. Messaging Terms (SMS & Other Messaging Channels)

By providing your mobile phone number, checking any applicable consent box, and using the Service, you agree to receive text messages and other messaging from PawPeer LLC related to your account and activity.

Message Types. You may receive the following types of messages (“PawPeer Messages”):

• Customer care/account notifications
• Account verification codes
• Security alerts
• Booking confirmations
• Booking reminders and updates
• Service notifications
• Customer support messages
• Optional promotional messages and offers related to PawPeer LLC and its services

Message Frequency. Messages are recurring, and message frequency varies based on your account activity (for example, the number of logins, bookings, or support requests).

Message and Data Rates. Message and data rates may apply to any messages sent to or from us, as determined by your mobile carrier. You are responsible for any such charges.

Opt-Out Instructions (STOP). You may opt out of receiving SMS messages at any time by texting STOP (or UNSUBSCRIBE) in response to any PawPeer message. After you send STOP, you may receive a single confirmation message, after which you will no longer receive SMS messages from us, except where required for security or as otherwise permitted by law.

Data Sharing & Privacy. PawPeer LLC uses your personal and mobile information only for operational purposes, such as providing and improving the Service and delivering the messages described above. We do not share, sell, or transfer your mobile number or messaging data with third parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Messaging data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
